Hi,

A bit of a FNG question:

I intend to use the Inon D-2000 flash with a Canon A640 and the Canon housing. From the Inon web page I gather the D-2000 has a target/focus light. How useful is it? If somebody is using it with an A640 I would be interested in your experience.
I already have a Nocturnal Lights LED light, which can be used as a focus light. Should I get a second arm to use it as a focus light or will I be fine with the D-2000's internal focus/target light?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Ideally, you want your focus light seperate from the strobe. The strobe light can be a spotting light; but the angle of lighting you want from the strobes is different from the best angle for a focus light. I want my focus light basically fixed forward, so while I'm trying to get focus in difficult conditions (vis, surge, moving target, access without hitting the coral), I don't have to move anything. You don't want your strobe pointing right down the optical axis of the camera, or you will have horrible backscatter.

Thanks. Makes sense to me. Sounds like I need a second arm.
