I went to the pool just to get dialed in for upcoming trip to the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM next weekend. Took some video and here is short clip of the Xdeep in action.

A little research answered my question.

Steve Bogaerts Razor BAT Wing (http://www.gosidemount.com/Razor/razor_bat_wing.asp)

This is the one that I'm using... http://forum.scubatoys.com/technical-questions-dir-cave-etc-40/xdeep-stealth-2-0-sidemount-40221/

I have mixed feelings about the air cell, it doesn't attach to the harness. The sidemount harness and the weight systems allows you to maintain perfect trim and the wing can be positioned so when inflated it doesn't affect your trim. The Razor wing has no baffles so when inflated looks like big overstuffed couch pillow.

Yes, they are independent and you switch between them every 200 to 500 psi. Makes it nice since you have redundant systems and less dependent on others.

This is really intriguing.

What does the Xdeep air cell attach to? How does it feel when you add air?

Can you use a mini-SPG, or do you use a full size SPG with a short hose?

The Stealth Wing uses bungees that just attach around you body to hold the wing in place, you can feel some squeeze with the wing fully inflated but not bad. If I was going to get into sidemount I would start with with the Hollis SMS50 which would give you dual AL80 or even dual AL80 and either a AL80 or AL40 deco/stage bottle. SMS50 has built in pocket on the upper harness for trim and two small pockets under the wing for weight.

Yes you could use the mini but I prefer the 2" thin on 6 inch hose, large enough to easily read even with out a mask.

This is still one of the best videos to show what a sidemount is all about Sidemount Essentials Training with Steve Martin - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0IaMd_u8GM)

How much weight are you using in the video?

When diving in fresh water with 2 AL80 and a 3 mil suit I slightly negative with zero weight so I just carry enough weight to offset gas usage which is about 4 lbs. In the pool sometimes I don't wear a wing and just use my lungs to maintain trim, the only problem with the is my sac rates go up a bunch.
