:smiley2: I have been advised to get some silicone grease for the O ring on my Go-Pro. I know to use a bare menimun. I found very small packages at Orilelly Auto Parts, it is 100% silicone. The amount in a package should last a week of opening & closing the camera then toss it. Cost was 1.39 and is about the size of a sugar package with 1/4 of the wieght. I have put it in a plastic bag in case of leaks.

I was advised by a staff member at ST today not to use silicone on Go Pro cameras because of their seal is different. Anybody know for sure. Trying to go to Go Pro site to ask them.

Proper o-ring grease is cheap. A leaking o-ring is expensive.

the GoPro o-ring is not really an o-ring. It is hard plastic seal piece, it does not flex therefore does not need lube to keep it supple.

I believe you are correct, the guys at the GoPro booth also told me not put anything on the seal and that it could cause problems if you do. Just insure that the seal is clean.

Thanks for the info. Now all I have to figure out how to update the camera. My computer keeps shutting down trying to detect java.
