indeed it is, but the big question is this... how long will it last before it happens again?

The combined total "knowledge" of all the DIR people brought the server to it's knees.

Or something.

No doubt! I had thought maybe SB was getting better until I read the thread in the Hollis dealer area. Dang, those guys are just harsh as heck!! Made me sick.

I think there are some people on there who are just there to argue with you......

then others who want to micromanage every thread.

Haven't been back since I found this place. Much nicer people here. Everyone here gets along and there isn't that smart tone to a view that is different from theirs.

Geeze... It's been way too long since my last post here... lots of lurking, not enough interactions. :D

In any event, as I understand it the provider that ScubaBoard uses to house their servers is offline. This effects far more than just ScubaBoard and right now no one, including the media, has been able to get a handle on why or how bad of an outage it is. Some people are speculating it's weather related but that's just a rumor. I can't imagine this lasting too long but it's hard to know what to make of it. One thing's for sure... it's out of ScubaBoard's hands tonight.

Anyways, back to catch up on some more threads!

As of right now - its been down for me for about 12 hours or so. I sent a PM this morning @ 7am, and came home sick @ 10am and it was dead then.

(The only areas I tend to frequent are the for-sale, and the SouthWest Sand Sharks for the local divers)

It's definitely back up, but it was down most of yesterday. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere in there explaining what happened, but frankly I don't care enough to chase it down...

I was able to get on. I left the computer while trying to connect. When I came back 5 minutes later I was in. Could not do anything else though. All the more reason to be here.

SB is in a perpetual state of brokenness of which only the degrees of brokenness change from day to day and hour to hour.

it's back online now..

the funny thing is that it's only been back up for about 5 minutes, if that...

yet they show 432 members online all the sudden. (I guess they are padding their members online numbers. I really doubt that many people are back on line when the number of posts since it came back up is so low. maybe that's a feature of the vBulletion software to keep members listed as online for X amount of time after they log on).

EDIT: spoke too soon... it's dead again.

I guess they are padding their members online numbers.I'm sorry but we do not do that.

All visitors are guests, members and the occasional searchbot.

We had a server problem yesterday. It got fixed.
