Jet boots not twin jets jet boots.
These things look like even more fun than a scooter. Like flying under water.

I wonder if they work as well as this video shows.

I wonder if they're worth $8500+...Or work as well as a $4500 X-Scooter.
They're developing a new toy also - Armjet.

Boy that's a tough sell for me... If I had unlimited $$$$ maybe. You can buy a whole lotta stuff for 8,500.

Wow--$8500 to go faster. I dive to go slower. Feel sorry for the turtle in the video.

Catalina without a hood? Even in summer that's got to be miserable...

they seem fun for tropical locations, but if you get anything caught in the blades then its going to be a lot harder to untangle it then with a normal scooter.

That is a thought... you would want to make sure that your way is clear with good vis. If you ran into something you wouldn't have anything in front of you like a regular scooter. Like a trot line for instance (ouch).

Also if you got tangled up it wouldn't be good. You'd have to have a knife handy for sure.

Those look pretty cool, don't know if they would be worth the $$, lots of other scuba gear I could buy for that :smiley2:. Could definately see it causing a big problem if you got caught in something. Would also have to have a buddy that had them or they would never be able to keep up! :smiley36:

Looks cool! But I imagine you'd have to be very skilled at maintaining neutral buoyancy and direction. Wouldn't want to be shooting up to the surface with these on!

I agree, plus the only bad thing about speed is that it can get you into trouble faster.

I think you guys are missing the point. Sure there are dangers like getting the props fouled; and sure, I wouldn't give them to a newbie so he could take the express lane to DCS but seriously. . .JET BOOTS!? I saw those and immediately wanted a pair. I also started thinking of ways to streamline the gear so you don't have this huge first stage slowing you down.
My SCUBA hero, Johnny Quest, would have a pair and so would Haji. In fact, Bandit would have his own too.
The way I see it, the jets get you to the location you want to get to and then you can shut them off and explore. They're just like a scooter but you don't have to worry about what to do with them when they aren't in use.
Get me a pair along with a torpedo-shaped helmet!

I can certainly see military and commercial use for something like this, but a toy without a purpose in my garage. Another heavy expensive thing to lug around. I would rather pick up a MadAss and spend the extra cash on mounting brackets to fit my gear on it.

I think when threads are almost 3 years old and revived all opinions on the original participants POV's should be written in the past tense...:)
