Briefly, I'm in the UK, PADI AOW + a few courses, OW 2005, most of my diving has been in the Mediterranean, a little around Plymouth, and work in ICU - look forward to joining the discussions, sharing and learning - and, as I've just gained one, like to hear from people with a RALF TEC WR1 wing .....

How's the diving in the Mediterranean? Lot of good stuff to see?For some reason I've always thought it'd be similar to diving in a lake.

http://www.scubatoys.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gifHi 'plot' - good to hear, and so soon - very difficult to make comparisons of course, with no experience of US diving. This side of the pond things are taken as smaller generally, but guess the Med is big enough! Favourite to date is Malta - check out www.maltaqua.com (http://www.maltaqua.com) - excellent visibility, warm, fish varies, found it excellent diving + wrecks: been there twice, going again end August. One example, visited the Rozi, tug boat sunk at ~35m, like swimming in sun lit, warm, very full aquarium - of 2 trips, best vis in November, could've sat and read a paper! Contrast - one trip to Plymouth, UK - found cold, poor vis., difficult to find bearings and didn't enjoy - but returning 'cos told can be much more there + many wreck sites well populated. We're thinking Bahamas for next year to extend our experience .....
<DIV>Oh, 'lake'? Guess depends on definition - Great Lakes seem pretty big, conditions I guess can vary hugely - but probably [my thought] also fairly muddy ... Med not like that - salty, very varied, huge range, some of the instructor/ guides I spoke to have been all over the world, settled on Med as best. Hope I change your perception, and look to hear more of US dives - Ross</DIV>
