We live in the piedmont of North Carolina, lots of hills. And one thing I've noticed is that on the way home after every dive my ears pop just going up and down hills. I don't have any problem equalizing, and I don't "over pressurize" either. But I have noticed that I am much more sensitive to air pressure changes for a while after diving.

Curious, I live in the Appalachian Mountains and travel from 2000' of evelvation to 3300' often without noticing any ear popping due to altitude changes.

I always use a form of swim ear after diving so I know my ears have no water in them before heading back. Do you? If not give that a try. I don't think what you are experiencing will cause you any problems.

I'm the same way with the ears...
When I drive over large hills I equalize...
apparently we are anomalies...

Yes I do use ear drops after every dive. And the popping doesn't hurt or anything, I just thought it was strange and was wondering if anyone else had the same thing.
