Animal House or Caddy Shack gotta be in the top 10

Kingpatzer
10-07-2007, 13:32
The best guy movie? gotta be the Godfather . . . a movie about tough guy father-son dynamics that every guy can relate to . . .

But I'll toss out Shichinin no samurai (7 Samurai) as a contender (or any other Kurosawa film).

Hmmm, that's a good one.
I'd say almost anything with "the man" Bruce Willis or
the Rundown.

If you haven't seen the Rundown, it's not necessarily a great movie, but Christopher Walken's lines alone (and his patented delivery) are worth the price of the movie. Plus, chicks hate it, which makes it a consummate man-film. Plus, it has Stifler in it.

Oh, hey, Stifler brings up another good man-film. American Pie, and it's sequels.

Speaking of, The Rundown. We've all forgotten about the Conan The Barbarian movies. Arnold when he was still HUGE and could barely speak english!

I guess you could also say the Bond movies are pretty much just man films.

Speaking of, The Rundown. We've all forgotten about the Conan The Barbarian movies. Arnold when he was still HUGE and could barely speak english!

Let's not confuse the Rundown (the Rock, Christopher Walken) with the Running Man (Arnold - my boss, Richard Dawson, and that other governor guy - Jesse Ventura)

Mtrewyn

Shawshank has got to be in that list toward the top.
Fight Club
All the Bond films, I prefer the older ones Canary, and Moore
Bravehart
Gladiator
Oceans Eleven the old and the new one
Top Gun
300 is good if you can handle "Matrix" style film making

my list could go on for a long time I'm not sure I could pick only one!

Steve Scuba
10-07-2007, 22:43
Oh, duh for me. What about Army of Darkness (my avatar for goodness sakes)? Funny movie, corny, women don't seem to like it - guy flick. Plus, Bruce Campbell is in it, best B-movie actor ever.

What about Blakchawk Down? Sensless violence, mostly the good guy wins, you can easily identify the bad guys. Lots of shooting and explosions. Tech stuff. Good cinematography. No famous people with phony accents and flippy hairdos. A little humor (but not much), irony, not a tear jerker, no girls allowed!

Unfortunatley mostly true and accurate to history. Sad political statement.

Connor (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001218/): Well, can't do much damage with that then, can we? Perhaps it should have been a rule of wrist? ****

Can't go wrong with the Star Wars trilogy. Notice how I said trilogy, since the first 3 (I thought) are not that great.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned the absolute separate-the-men-from-the-women films of all times:

The Three Stooges shorts. Any of 'em. :bash:

I have yet to meet anyone without a "Y" chromosome who finds ANY redeeming value in the Stooges.

I like movies with a twist at the end, like Training Day or Number 23. The Village and The Others were good too.

Slap Shot.

Sports, drinking, promiscuous sex, gambling, farting, male boding, violence, naked women, and in the end they get a parade for being MEN.

What is not to love?

I saw a movie on HBO a couple of weeks ago called "Shoot Em Up" - you guys'd LOVE it if you haven't seen it - lots of over-the-top sex and violence (at the same time no less).
