True or not, what's your favorite?

Unfair starting a post like that unless you start it out with yours!

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago (July 12th), in a galaxy far
away (TX). Larry practically dared me not to purchase my first (non
Aquaman) fins. His Jedi mind tricks lured me into getting the Apollo
Bio fins with spring straps. I eagerly await their arrival at my
door so I can test them out in my bathtub and sleep with them under my
pillow. That is, until I get my butt certified and start making my own
real fish tales. To be cont....

A while ago I was teaching an OW class to a couple of guys. They seemed like nice folks, and they were quick learners. After I certified them, I found out they only wanted to know how to dive so that they could bust their brother out of Alcatraz. So I caught up with them underwater during the escape and cut their airhoses.

Oh, wait. That was an episode of Sea Hunt.

i read this hilarious story by Dave Barry and he alluded to Sea Hunt. Apparently, he said, in every episode of Sea Hunt, someone's airhose inevitably gets cut.

so, joew, i believe you. :)

Ya realize, of course, that when they cut the airhoses on Sea Hunt, they AWAYS cut the exhaust hose.

I never noticed that before. I'll need to take a closer look the next time I'm watching old episodes.

It is really, really not fair to tell someone else that they should start out with a story, when the poster did not... (oh, and I have already met my requirements)

Down in Oz, this time of year, the trigger fish are making their nests. Mean little buggers who will attack if you are within their cone of nest control---do not swim up--swim away very fast. They bite and keep biting much like a horse with teeth that pinch. I first encountered these little darlings about 8 years ago while diving out of Cairns on Reef Magic. First dive was with a cute female dive master who wanted to go down with an experienced Canuck diver ( she knew our reputation for getting it on in cold water). She was attacked on the face-- blindsided-panicked and quit diving that day. Keep an eye out for the little buggers and know what you are looking for---they are more dangerous than the reef sharks and are not forgiving.
