I recently joined the scubaboard forum and gosh i felt lost...i was way overwhelmed when i went in to check new posts and there were SEVERAL hundred...i'm glad i have ST forum....feels like home...i'll compare it to living in a little city to living in a big metropolis...both have their advantages....but i'm a ST addict.....

Yeah, and in a small town they know what you're doing behind closed doors. Think about it.

:smilie39: In this case they know what you're doing underwater. :)

Yeah, I'm in both Scubaboard and ST... but frankly, I "hang out" here a lot more :)
My DH probably thought I am addicted to ST forums.

Go to your user control panel and block all the forums that you don't want to be listed in the "new posts" at SB. I have it down to about 5 pages of new posts per day. If I really wanted to I could probably go even further than that but you never know when you might have a new dive buddy post in the intro forum.

I've got some forums blocked just to reduce the garbage.

You can also "block threads" on Scubaboard and they won't show in new posts.

For example, if you don't want the MOF threads, you can block them.

Mask on Forehead or No mask on forehead (around neck or off) - a big debated topic, just do a search if you feel like losing some braincells :smiley20:

Ok... but you have to promise to bring at least 5 people back with you or else we void all your gift certificates! :smiley2:

As one of the two people that actually started that neverending thread over there (the neverending part, not the subject).. In the over 400,000 posts that have been made to the various versions of it, I think I can safely say that you will not learn anything from going there. It long ago stopped being anything about diving (except when and how to get together to dive).

On the other hand, how many people can say they made over 40,000 posts on one topic...:smilie39:

I may be dumb, but I can't figure out how to do this.

I open my user control panel, select the option, but it doesn't give me the choice of removing forums from the new posts feature.

At the bottom of the Edit Options window, select the forums you want to exclude. Hold down the control or shift keys to select multiple forums. Then hit Save Changes at the bottom. Looks like this when you're done:

Make sure you are logged in to scubaboard, then put this in your address bar:
ScubaBoard (http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions)

Scroll all the way to the bottom and you can block forums

Aha...

You have to have the forum view set the the default setting in order to see it, I guess.

I changed that, and was able to choose!!

Thanks for the help!
