What is your favorite dive destination beer?

11-27-2007, 16:08
Mine's a tie...between Turk's Head Lager from T&C and Hairoun from St. Vincent...

Since I have dove only Florida up and down the coast from Marathon to Hudson. I would say post dive beverage favorit must be good old bud light. Nice and smooth, ice cold in the cooler.

Diet Coke

immediately after a dive? It's Gatoraid or water. After I'm done for the day? Salva Vida-Roatan, Dos Eqous-Coz, Tennets-Scotland.

Shiner Bock when diving locally. It used to be Stingray Beer when diving in Grand Cayman until they ceased production, so I had to settle for Red Stripe the last time I was there. I believe there is a new locally produced beer in Grand Cayman called Cay Brew. I'll be trying it in January while I am there.

Dos Equis - Yummy! Wish SABMiller would buy Femsa so I could start drinking that again!

Kona brewing company - haven't heard that name in a while! We toured that when we were there on our honeymoon. They had a could really nice beers.

Miller Chill is also GREAT after sporting. I love having a couple after tennis matches. It's got a bit more carbonation and goes down smooth. Very sessionable.

Belkin, Delerium, Salva Vida

In Texas that would be Corona or Shiner

11-28-2007, 09:10
Salva vida is a great beer. I'm also a fan of Kenyan brewed Tusker.

11-28-2007, 09:23
I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

11-28-2007, 09:43
I get really hungry after I dive... okay I am always hungry if you know me.... post dive I love a good maragrita!

11-28-2007, 12:58
I also should have added Leinenkugel for any Superior or Michigan dives.

Mighty Borris

Michiladas or Chiladas in mexico.

For those who don't know what that is, it is Beer (what ever mexican beer is flowing is fine) in a glass with a salted rim, about 1/2 - 1" of lime juice and some ice.

This is the ONLY beer drink in the world I would ever consider drinking with ice.

Other wise, it is a Mojito all the way! :smiley20:

Dos XX

12-04-2007, 06:26

Last summer in the keys, we had just finished our 2nd dive, and this guy from australia asked if anyone wanted some Bailey's over ice. Now I'm not a huge bailey's fan, but it was great at that moment. Ok, it's not beer.

For beer, I like DOS XX.

12-23-2007, 11:21
Right after the dive - Power Aid - the blue stuff
after I get the boat on the wash rack -Yengling draft!

12-31-2007, 10:35
Mmm! Yuengling is one of my favorite beers but sadly it's not available in my state. I discovered it in NY and then have "rediscovered" it on each of my subsequent visits to Florida. The Black & Tan is super, and not too awfully $$$. Good choice.

12-31-2007, 11:49
Gatorade when I'm first up. Then a Guiness stout to finish.

01-07-2008, 10:34
Water to moisten the throat then any beer is good. Free beer is better..

If its beer and cold than thats my beer.

I'm a big fan of Pipeline Porter from Kona Brewing in Hawaii

Yeah I like the Kona Brewing Company brews....its funny, a brewery in seattle bought the rights to produce all bottled versions of KBC beer.....so anything in a bottle, even on Big Island was brewed and bottled in Seattle......only the keg beer directly at the restaurant in Kailua-Kona is the "real" stuff.....good pizza, huh?

I prefer Pacifico here in Cabo! Its a lot different than Pacifico in the US, and different from Pacifico on the east side of mexico.....in the same sentence Sol here stinks....but in Quintana Roo is awesome....

I guess its all geographically dependant.....I mean if I was diving in Thailand, I would order local and not imported...

But as they say..."there is no such thing as bad beer, just some are better than others!"

My husband's is Kabuli, made in Dominica.

He's sad you can't get it anywhere outside of Dominica.

Me, I can't stand beer, unless it's really well made like Chimay, the rest just is a waste of my time, much rather be drinking a side car, really sour margarita, or something yummy like a malbec or cabernet.

01-09-2008, 20:52
Bellikin in Belize
Amstel Bright in Curacao
Sting Ray in Grand Cayman
Dos Equis Dark in Coz
