Wetsuit repair

I have several small rips or cuts on my Bare Arctic 7mm , where the neoprene layer acts as a cover for the zipper, between your back and the zipper. It does not go all of the way through. Any suggestions on how to fix it? AquaSeal?

I have the same suit with tears in the same place. It is almost impossible for one person to zip the suit up without help. This is what caused the tears in mine. I just leave mine that way since it does not cause any noticeable water transfer there. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />[/I]

I have the same suit and it has not started to tear. Used it 3 times (i live in florida and don't regularly use a 7 MM). I use my 5 MM Mares trilastic more. I have seen neoprene repair kits... never used on though

Fixing a neoprene tear is pretty easy. Buy some black neoprene glue from your LDS. Mix it up well, then coat both edges of the tear and let them dry (not touching) for 10-15 minutes. Do a second coat of glue in the same way, again letting it dry but this time for 20-30 minutes. Now carefully align the tear edges and bring them together, from the root of the tear on forward. You want the join to be a even and smooth as possible. Now using your fingers, pinch the join together tightly to form the bond and now let the whole thing dry for 24 hrs. (Yes, you can let go when leaving it to dry...)

I am new to diving and will be going in the cold New England waters. I have all but decided on the BARE Arctic 7MM Full suit and hooded vest combo. Reading these posts about the tears gives me pause. Overall have you been pleased with this suit?
