Just wondering if anyone could tell me what is DUI DOG DAYS? I was looking at divealabama.com which is the quarry in Pelham Alabama and noticed where they had post DUI DOG DAYS April 5 and 6,2008.

It's a drysuit rally by DUI. You pay a small fee and dive their suits and usually get a meal to boot. They'll size you and take you out with an instructor if you need one, it's a good event.

It is an opportunity to try thier drysuits (DUI) for a day. Get your ticket in advance, and they throw in a lunch. At least that is how it worked last year at Dutch Springs when we did it there.
Great Fun

Check out my photo album. I have some pictures from DUI Dog Days in Mermett Springs, Oct 2007.

It's a good time. You get a chance to touch, feel, and dive a DUI Drysuit. Good experience if you're interested in going dry. Do have to put up with a little "holyer than thou" sales pitching. But, a good time.

I do their rally every year at Beaver Lake in April. I can't afford to purchase one, but I usually dive at least 2 different suits. Not only do they supply lunch but they alsa have a dinner with door prizes in Eureka Springs at a hotel on Sat. night. Sealife usually has some reps their and lets you try their cameras out also.

It's a good time... I missed this year at Beaver Lake, AR. Same weekend as my wedding and my fiance thought I should be at the wedding. Go figure.

Is he not a diver? Where's his priorities?

Probably the right decision.

It wasn't too crowded, weather was terrible the only way to get warm was to dive one of their dry suits. You hated to take it off after your dive.

We had 90+ temps at DUI in Mermett in October. I was talking to the DUI people and they were talking about how miserable it was at Beaver earlier in the year due to the weather.

I don't recall anything about it being miserable, only that my buddy and I got put into timeout. That was a paperwork snafu and I kind of thought it was funny once it was straightened out.

What made it miserable?

They really do have great suits. I went this past year to Lake Rawlings, VA and I dove 3 different suits. I own a Whites but would trade it for a DUI in a minute. You should attend if it is close to you. You will regret it someday if you don't go.

I heard about your little rebel act at DUI and how you got "put in timeout". Sometime you'll have to tell me the story.

I will, that event alone was worth the admission price.
