MY wife and I are looking at the $350 package that includes the RS 130.
Can any one let us know if this is a good choice?

i just bought Disneymom an RS130/Viper reg seg for Christmas based on reviews on this board, my own research, and recommendation by the ST staff. it's a great reg package for the money, hard to beat! (plus the ST discount don't suck either!!!!):smiley20:

I have the RS 130 and love it! I got the Mares R2 Deal of the Year package and swapped the Mares for the 130 and LOVE it. It doesn't come with a compass though so that has been the ONLY down side to it. But its a good bit less than the other package yet still GREAT if you are on a budget.

I am looking at that package for myself-its got an adjustable 2nd stage, two hp ports on the first stage and it comes with a 3 guage console! I searched this board and found the Tusa was a great breather.

I purchased an RS-130/viper for my son who just got certified this past summer. I used it on a couple of dives too and decided to replace our older Dacor Extreme with another RS-130 for another family member. I didn't like the viper octo as much as the Tusa ss-10 . I know that the advantage of the Viper is that there is no "right side up", it's just that I like the back-up to feel just like the primary from a comfort stand point and the purge was more natural to use. Nothing big, just comfort...

Overall, it's a very nice breather - especially for the money!

Dove with an rs-130 during pool sessions. Very easy to breath except when you are lying on your back at the bottom of the pool blowing bubble rings, then it breaths a little harder.
