Just wanted to put this out there since i got to test my dive computer today in ginnie springs. i think they are nice computers and they are very easy to understand and use. just wanted to see other peoples opinions on them.:smiley36:

Simple, basic, intuitive, easy to use, easy to read. Good entry level computer. Limits: 12 dive memory, no light, not nitrox compatible, no audible alarm. Just ask yourself these questions:
1) If I actually log my dives, will I wait more than 12 dives?
2) Can I get by on a night dive without a back light?
3) Do I dive nitrox?
4) Do I need the alarm, or do I check my NDL's?

For me it would work.

I just bought this computer, anticipating its arrival on monday!

I don't like that it doesn't read water temp.

Not only does it read the water temp, it logs it as well.

you all should look into the Veo 180's as well - has a backlight, and does nitrox...

yep

Very easy to use but, as has been mentioned, no backlight, no nitrox, and no download capabilities.

I would have upgraded to a nitrox computer its going to suck when you want to dive it
but for an air only computer it looks pretty good I have the aeris atmos 2 which is the older model of the XR2 and I really like it

can you see this computer all on night dives/low vis dives without a light? interested in the ease of use of this computer, and its budget price =)

It's a great little air computer, and works well for the beginning diver. Personally I would have upgraded to a nitrox computer like the XR2, but if you're only diving air, then no need to. Can always spend the money on a new computer later on, which, if you become hopelessly addicted, you'll probably do regardless just because you can. ;)

At 80 ft in a quarry last summer I could see it ok if I tilted it to catch the light. It was fairly dark down there but nowhere near a night dive. If I was going to do a lot of night dives I'd probably get an XR-2.

Me and my son both have this computer. I like it. Is really easy to read and use. I don't have any plans to dive nitrox so it fits the type of diving I do well. And yes, it logs both air and water temp.
