Where's a good place to get these things? They're either discontinued or $250...

OMS makes a bottom timer that's virtually identical. Since they carry other OMS gear, I bet Joe and Larry could get you one at a fair price.

Failing that, They carry them at http://www.piratescuba.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=PSWS/PROD/G2/WBT

You should expect to pay between $200 and $250 for one in any case.

Random internet searches of places I wouldn't buy from (or are out of the country)...

Thanks Roy. I looked at the Xtender and it looks like a traditional dive computer. At 300GBP, that's a bit out of my range for a bottom timer :)

Hollywood Divers has OMS ones for $199.95... that's cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. Hollywoodivers.com: Bottom Timer by OMS (http://hollywoodivers.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=H&Product_Code=OMSWBT&Category_Code=)

Uwatec launched a new version of the D-timer last year. It does exactly the same job and has the same display it's just a bit less bulky. They're available here in the UK for around 80GBP so around 150-160USD. No idea of shipping costs to the US though sorry

Ah, some great info, thx guys. Sounds like the newer BTs are not out in the US (yet)? Wonder if they're going to be released.

I dunno, how do you tell?

I don't know. You may want to look in the manual to see if it has the average depth feature. I believe this is one of the significant changes between the old one and the new one. I believe it is also called something like the Uwatec Digital 330M. I have one on order and was wondering what you thought of it.

The question remains relevant almost two year after the original topic was started.
