I work out 6 days a week now because I'm too fat. Thought it would be nice to see what others are doing.

I'm training for the Marine Corps Marathon in October. I run 3-4 days a week, depending on the training schedule, and I swim twice a week. This week, I managed to swim a mile for the first time, on Tuesday and Thursday. I did "cheat"- I used my snorkel.
Tomorrow is my last run for the week, I'll run 8 miles.

I joined a gym 3 months ago and am a complete addict.

Always laughed at people before but have seen my SAC go down by about 10% so far.

Feel a lot better after multiples now as well.

I'm not experienced enough to have a good SAC rate yet, but I'm certain that being fit will help me out while diving.

I've been beset by injuries during the last 3 years. I just started running again to drop some of the 30 pounds I've added since the first injury. I think my days of contact sports are over though.

I can't stand my keg at this point. I ran into one of my ex-students today and the first words out of his mouth were "You got fat." Damn kids are way too honest.

Age gets all of us. For me I'm not what I'd call fat, but my muscle I had when I was half my age went away. That's because I quit playing basketball, hiking, hunting, all the things that required physical activity. Well, not all but the most strenuous ones and that has caused me to add on 30 lbs since high school. I suppose 30 lbs in 23 years ain't bad, but it's not real good either.

I actually was at 220 lbs once but lost most of that when my blood pressure went up and I was worried about passing my medical for flying. I started the Dash diet to lower the blood pressure, but it also made me lose weight which is odd because I was eating more food than I was before. Better food though and not candy and soda. So for me I actually gained 70 lbs since high school, but lost enough of it that now I'm only 30 lbs heavier.

Marriage, kids and work all seem to conspire to make us fat. Plus it's about 10 times harder to shed ANY weight since I crossed the 30 year mark.

I have done almost every diet from slimfast to atkins, and found one universal truth. I can diet all I want for as long as I want, and I won't loose ANY weight. But I can combine ANY sensible diet with lots of running/walking and the pounds will fall.
