NOTE: I have received permission from Larry & Joe to post this request. I am a founding member here and a multiple-order Scubatoys.com customer, so don't think that I'm just some moron looking for free help ... :)

I am in the process of completing a Capstone paper (sort of like a mini-thesis) on Internet marketing and e-commerce web sites. Essentially, we could pick ANY online retailer for our evaluation, and I - of course - chose Scubatoys.com.

I am looking for at least 20 members (50 maximum) to complete a survey about the Scubatoys.com online storefont.

It should only take one to two minutes, tops, to complete the survey.

Please read this entire message before completing the survey.

There will only be 18 questions very simple questions:
3 are demographic (e.g., how long have you been scuba diving)
15 questions are relative to the following issues specific to Scubatoys.com:

Success of existing marketing campaigns
Web site navigation and layout
Product brand selection and promotion
Customer service
Customer retention techniques.

Answers will be nothing more than rating your reponse in this manner:

Strongly Agree
Agree
Neutral
Disagree
Strongly Disagree

All responses will be kept completely confidential and anonymous, and only a summary of the responses will be used to complete my paper, which will be shared only with my professor. I have also told Joe and Larry that I will share the report with them, which (again) will only contain a summary of the results, but no specific names or identifiers. In fact, you do not even provide any info to compete the survey.

I am using a free online survey host. No personal information, name, or email is required to complete the survey. All you have to do is follow the link below, choose your answers, and click the SUBMIT button at the bottom.

NOTE: Please only complete the survey once - Thanks !!

Please post a response to THIS thread AFTER you have completed the survey. That way, this thread stays active!) I will update this thread when the survey has closed (max 50 responses).

UPDATE: The survey has received 50 responses and is now closed. Thank you all for your support!

THANK YOU in advance to all members who complete this!

OK, I did the survey. I think a few of your questions could have been worded a bit differently but other than that...

Good luck.

What class are you doing this for? What is your analysis plan?

Pie charts make fairly understandable displays but I preferred using inferential statistical techniques to identify confidence levels associated with trend statements.

Your results are going to be skewed -- your selection of people are those who are self-selected as forum members and who are self-selecting to fill out the survey. That is a vastly different sample than those who buy from scubatoys on-line.

There are people here who are members and who may choose to fill out the survey who have never purchased anything on-line, and there are loyal internet customers who never visit the forums.

This isn't some super-analytical data research project trying to gather data to prove or disprove the hypothesis of global warming.

I'm just gathering a few responses from scubatoys.com members (perhaps customer, perhaps not), who are willing to tell me what does or does not drive them to buy something from ST, and their reaction to online marketing techniques in general.

If this were a thesis for an MBA, I'd worry about it. But since it's just a brief 5 or 6 page report on many things (not just this data), I'm not too worried about it.

Thanks for the input, though ... :)

Any word on the results yet??You must have missed this part of my original post, robjoubert:

I have also told Joe and Larry that I will share the report with them, which (again) will only contain a summary of the results, but no specific names or identifiers. In fact, you do not even provide any info to compete the survey. If I were to post the results in public, it would be in complete contrast with my commitment to both the respondents and Joe & Larry. I would venture to guess that, if I went back on my word, some folks might be pretty unhappy with me.

FWIW: I just have the oral presentation of the project last night (50/50, might I add). The final paper is due by this Sunday.
