I'm going to be in Phoenix April 3 - 5. Does anyone have any info/tips on diving Lake Pleasant when I'm there? Thanks.

Contact Kris Przeor (http://forum.scubatoys.com/members/przeor.html) at Salva Vida Scuba (if he doesn't see your post) They're private instructors who also do fun dives there regularly.

There's also scheduled dives and other info posted on Scubaboard in the Southwest Sand Sharks forum.

Check out the Lake Pleasant link under Dive Sites and Dive Reports on Southwest Scuba ("http://www.southwestscuba.com). Unfortunately, conditions haven't been that great there lately, but they may be better by the time you get there. Oh, and Scorpion Bay is no longer a dive spot. It's a marina.

Since Rob is now in Florida, I am trying to get a site together to have more current information on Lake Pleasant.

Frank’s Scuba Diving (TheScubaBlog.net) Lake Pleasant (http://www.thescubablog.net/lake-pleasant)

One of the first projects is to get a good comprehensive "map" of the lake showing divesite names. I did locate some old topo maps, so I also have completed some underwater mapping good to a (current) depth of about 120 feet.

Overlaid divesites on top of Google Map images or something like that. They might be in an old post in the SW Sandsharks forum on SB if you want to look for them. He mod's on the Matrix and works at Oasis now. The Dive Matrix Forums - View Profile: shark.byte.usa (http://www.divematrix.com/member.php?u=105)

I've been able to find a lot of "old" info that I've been working with (thank fully photoshop is a wonderful thing!) including some of the original site survey's from 1902. I also think I'm going to need to make an appointment to look at some old archive maps that I've located in Prescott which should be interesting. (I would REALLY like to know where/if the railroad tracks are in the lake) and if there are any other "oddities" in the lake - I have the old dam / old spillway info and photos.

The map is looking quite good - the problem with other things is that no one has just put the info "out there." I have a "bit" of experience with photo editing, web work, etc, so, it should allow me to get it all together nicely (I hope!)

do you know of any groups that go to lake pleasant regularly? I am moving back down to AZ for the summer and live about 15 mins from LP and am planning on getting a bunch of dives in, but I don't know any dive buddies in AZ yet. I have been up in Utah at college for the past few years...I am planning on heading to a LDS in scottsdale (SSI) to meet some people.

There are a number of divers that regularly used the lake but it isn't really an organized thing. The best bet on catching up with us is generally throught scubaboard.com look under the southwest sandsharks forum.
