Raja Ampat, Indonesia - added new pictures

Spent 2 wonderful weeks on a liveaboard to Raja Ampat, Indonesia last December. 46 dives and several thousand photographs later (maybe 20% keepers) - here are a few of the "keepers".

Lionfish

Red Soft Coral

Gorgonians

Nice pics. I was in Raja back in Feb of this year also on a liveaboard. Great place although the airport in Sarong makes Manado look like a nice modern airport.

stunning bversteegh, would you mind telling me what you have for a camera setup?

I hear you on the keepers, I shot 308 UW pics when I was in Bali.

I shoot a Canon 20D in an Ike housing, with 2 ds50 strobes. For wide angle, I shoot a 15mm Sigma fisheye; for macro, the 100mm Canon macro lens ( with a Woody wet diopter).

Well the liveaboard I did is no longer in biz. It was the Adventure Komodo and the late Larry Smith was the main reason to dive with them. When he passed away that was pretty much the end of that boat. For those who don't know him Larry Smith is the father of muck diving in Indonesia and he is responsible for putting Lembeh Strait on the dive map. He was well known thru out Indonesia and most of the dive world in general. He was great guy and his passing earlier this year was a major bummer for many myself included. Luckily though I was on one of his last trips and feel blessed to have known him. I'm sad the boat is no longer doing trips as well as the crew he had put together was incredible.
