I have not noted any time as being particularly good. Last time I was there was in August, a typhoon had just passed and it was raining heavily - turned out to be the best vis I have experienced at Subic. During the dry season, avoid the weekend crowds who really stir things up. I have found I am normally one of the few divers during weekdays.

I stayed at Blue Rock for a few nights in April and dived with them as well.
It was okay, they are are nice bunch to dive with (local guy and his wife run the dive shop) quite laid back, but maybe a bit too laid back. Some Korean guys came with one one dive who really did not know what they were doing so that spoilt one dive - they didnt even check my certifications. Also we couldnt dive the US New York since some US navy ship was anchored near by, and it ws off limits. That was a big dissapointment so make sure thats not the case if you planning on going there. The other dives were 40 mins my boat out towards the mouth of the bay. Blue Rock is nice, but expensive. |
