Oz & NZ restaurant.

I know this forum is for diving but you gotta eat as well. I've got my diving all sussed out but am looking for some good place for tucker. I'll be in Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane while in Oz and Christchurch, Picton and Nelson in NZ. Anybody got some good recommendations? I'll eat just about anything but lima beans and love Thai food.

I'd recommend Ann's Thai on Hereford St. in Christchurch. For a non Thai option try Annie's Wine Bar & Restaurant in the Arts Centre.

The food was decent, but the collection of local beers is great. The Green Ant in Cairns. It is a "local" joint and is directly behind the mall as you walk from shore. You need to cross the train tracks.

Just remembered....there is an Aquariumn...It is in a shopping center down where (I think) the Raddison is.....lots of shovel nose rays in the tank...worth walking by.

Since you will be driving past i really recommend stopping at the fish&chips shop in Kaikoura (the one on the SH1 not the ones in town) for a feed, the blue cod is very tasty (tho normally a little small). The dolphin swimming there is one of the most amazing things ive ever done, there were approx 400 around us when i did it. I shore dive Kaikoura lots so if ya need any info give a pm.

Thnx for the suggestions that Thai place in Christchurch looks like a winner. I'll only be in Brisbane for a day so I might have to check out the Irish Club do they serve Kilkenny?
