Dive Bag to Carry on All Gear

Does anyone have a suggestion for a dive bag that will fit all your gear but can still be carried on to a plane? I am currently using a costco kirkland rolling duffel which works well, but I'm wondering if there's anything better out there. What are you all using?

are you wanting all of your gear as a carry on? or all of it to be safe when you get off of the plane.

I use my regular luggage carry on for my bdc & mask, two changes of clothes, shoes, & swimsuits. I carry a kelty back pack for my reg and the rest of my carry on stuff (food, books, pillow, purse, travel docs, meds).

Fins, wetsuits, and booties go in my non carry on.

I have the Akona AKB155 Evolution Roller Bag that I will test diving this coming week on a trip to Bonaire.

I have a XS Scuba bag set: giant roller bag, mesh bag for dive boats, mask bag, regulator bag, and a dry bag for dive log. So far, I LOVE the set. Very good quality, and fits all my cold water diving stuff w/o a problem (since that was my biggest problem with fitting gear. Cold water gear is so much bulkier and bigger!).

Oh, and the only thing that wouldn't go in the "checked bag" would be my regulator bag. That I would carry on.

I have an XS Scuba Deluxe Mesh Roller Bag or some variation of that name.. it's pretty big and swallows a lot of gear.. but lately I've been preferring the Akona Backpack with the side zipper.. I think it's like the Deluxe Mesh Backpack or something.. can't fit as much in there but I usually just carry my BC slung over my other shoulder or something.

I have the Akona evolution bag as well, I looked for a long time for a bag that would be strong, compact yet could carry a set of cold water gear. The evolution is perfect and it comes with a mesh bag and a reg padded bag.

I want to carry everything on. The only problem I've had with gear not being safe is the airlines losing my bag, or things being stolen from checkin luggage. I'm taking a trip later this year connecting through Miami, and that airport is notorious for gear being stolen so I don't want to let it out of my hands.

That's a really nice looking bag, but definitely not carry on size. Are you worried at all that being obviously a scuba bag, your bag may be gone through and things stolen? Have you ever had any issues with that?

The only thing I really could not get in my carryon would be fins & I have seen some folks actually carry those on or pop them on the side of a carry on.

I don't put any gear that I consider "life-saving" or personal in my checked luggage. My reg, masks, and bc are with me at all times when travelling. Renting fins, wetsuit & booties is OK with me & I have had to do it before. If they are hard up enough to steal my $30 ebay shorty they are more than welcome to it.

I don't mind renting fins etc either, but it sucks when they are stolen. I hated my first set of fins, but I still paid a hundred bucks for them, so it's aggravating for someone to just rip them off. I actually can carry them on by using a snorkeling bag as my 'personal item' but it's not the most comfy bag to carry since the straps aren't padded at all. I figured someone had probably figured out a better solution by now, but it seems the choices are either take your chances with check in, or basically what I'm already doing.
