The Walmart bags are nice and a great price. My travel bag came from REI which I used my annual dividend on, and cost me about $100.
<DIV></DIV> <DIV>One thing with the Walmart bags, watch them on the airport carousel. My friend had her bag picked up by someone else who left the airport with it. Nothing like having someone else take off with your dive gear! Got it back two days later.</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>I do have a mesh bag for the boats and for local dives.</DIV> |

I'd go with a no-logo plain jane suitcase of your choice.
I avoid anything that screams, I'm full of expensive STUFF! I use a large rolling duffel. It's worked well. The only problem is that I can easily get more than 50lbs inside. Keep that in mind when purchasing a travel bag. Having a huge bag takes up space, and generally you can't fill it up anyway with the airline weight restrictions. |

My wife and I each have an Akona bag. Hers is the roller duffel and mine is the large duffel with no wheels. A Full set of gear including a full 3 mil suit in each of them come to about 45 pounds including misc clothes, etc. I have had the no-wheeled duffel for 4 years and it looks like brand new. I really don't care if someone thinks there is dive gear inside...thats like hiding golf clubs in those golf club travel cases :-)

For flying to and fro, we use regular old suitcases we got a Ross (or TJ Max, or Marshalls, etc.) on the cheap! Once we're on land, or for our soon to be liveaboard trip, we roll out with the Scubatoys mesh backpack! Does the trick, inexpensive and with a picture of Joe and Larry, no one will dare steal my bag!
