My wife and I use our wheeld Tusa RD-2 duffles on the boat. Since there is 2 of us we stack them on top of each other under our bench. They fold down real flat and they're completely out of the way.

i think any mesh bag that is large enough will really work, as long as it holds all the gear youre planning on traveling with, also reccomend having a second smaller bag for weights, the majority of the travel bags will not hold up to the weight and the seams will begin to tear

Why put them in a dry bag when they either have just been or soon will be, submerged in salt water for the next 3 hours?

Note; this bag is only carried from house to car to boat. If you are going through the airport, by all means, get a roller bag.
My thoughts as well. I would add however, if you do travel, still get a soft bag that you can fold up and take with you to use at your destination. Rollers and especially a hard bags are problematic even on larger boats.
I actully have a Tusa soft bag that cost me like 25 bucks. It is smaller than the the round end ones and not quite as sturdy but will fit a tropical set of gear (2 sets minus the BC's) and will fold up small enough to fit in glove compartment.
Not to be argumentative, because untill I got my XS Scuba Mesh Roller Bag I agreed with your position. But this bag folds up almost as small as a standard mesh bag, but you still have the rollers. It doesn't have a hard back because it doesn't have an extending handle. It's folds up small enough for me to add it to my travel bag so when I get to my destination, I still have a rolling gear bag.

Agree. I know the bag. I was thinking more along the lines of the ones with a hard back for the handle and the hard bottom for the wheels.
They look like shallow masons troughs with a nylon cover, handle and wheels.

Bought an Akona Mesh Backpack from ScubaToys. Is rugged and holds all gear. ST is now selling a competing product under its own label ScubaToys Mesh Backpack Bag . Price is considerably less than the Akona bag (which has gone up from when we bought ours), but I don't know if that results from a difference in ruggedness.

According to Larry, the Akona has rubberized mesh. It is more rugged.

I've had two different Akona bags and on both I had zippers break. I won't buy another Akona product and wouldn't use one if they gave it to me. They are cheap and you get what you pay for.

Another vote for the XS. Buddy of mine bought the ST one and wished he would have gotten the XS instead. ST isn't a bad bag just not as rugged.

I tried that it I found it was more of a waist of money. Figure in time and gas it wasn't worth it.
