Will This bag get to the gate.

OK little delema here. The group I am going to Aruba with are not divers. They don't want to check luggage. I am fine with gate checking but not the regular check luggage at the desk fiasco. Will this bag get flagged or can I get to the door of the plane with no problems.
Tusa Rolling Backpack BP-2 Bag, Dive Bags, Tusa, Tusa Rolling Backpack BP-2 Bag

P.S. the bag is pretty lightly packed so it can compress some. its not anywhere close to busting at the seems. thanks a ton.

All I can tell you is that my carry on back pack is similar in dimension to this bag, though mine is 23" long compared to your 26". The fin compartment looks detachable so you could always carry that separate as your "personal" carry-on piece and the larger bag as carry-on. Nice looking bag!
Hope this is helpful.

Now I'm going to bookmark that info and print it out for reference. Going to need to figure out a way to travel w/ gear soon enough and that will save me time doing research.

meets checked requirements, or carryon requirements?

The dimensions of that bag are larger than what is allowed carryon for every airline on that list...

I think you'll be sol on carrying that bag on---sorry. It meets airline regulations for check in luggage sure, but it's way bigger than carry on size. I think it will be obvious enough that they'll catch it at the airport and make you check it.

It clearly violates the guidelines but it always surprises me what gets by as a carry on so you "might" get it on just make sure you board early before all the over head is filled by all the other people just doing carry on. Be prepared to check it at the gate if it gets that far. The 26" length seems to be a big drawback to me and with the handle and wheels I doubt it compresses in that direction. Let us know how it went you get back.

I just want to gate check not take it on the plane. The people we are going with said that airport in Aruba takes a very long time to get checked luggage from the plane out to the travelers. If teh airlines want people to only bring "legal" sized bags maybe they could do a better job keeping track of luggage and have better customer service if they do misplace your luggage.
