Will This bag get to the gate.
OK little delema here. The group I am going to Aruba with are not divers. They don't want to check luggage. I am fine with gate checking but not the regular check luggage at the desk fiasco. Will this bag get flagged or can I get to the door of the plane with no problems.
Tusa Rolling Backpack BP-2 Bag, Dive Bags, Tusa, Tusa Rolling Backpack BP-2 Bag P.S. the bag is pretty lightly packed so it can compress some. its not anywhere close to busting at the seems. thanks a ton. |

Well, Joe and Larry say: "This bag meets all the new airline sizing requirements! "
So I will say yes, it will work. FYI: Domestic Airline/Flight Policies - Carry On Luggage Airline 1 plus 1 personal item Allowance Max wt per piece Max size per piece AirTran 1 plus 1 personal item 55" Alaska and also Horizon 1 plus 1 personal item 10"H x 17"W x 24"L Aloha (sometimes on interisland flights - none!) 20lbs 44" = 8" x 14" x 22" America West 1 plus 1 personal item 45" American 1 plus 1 personal item 40lbs 45" ATA 1 plus 1 personal item 9" x 15" x 25" Northwest 1 plus 1 personal item 24" x 16" x 10" 22" x 14" x 9" US Airways 1 plus 1 personal item 40lbs combined weight for both 24" x 16" x 10" for overhead 21" x 16" x 8" for underseat Last edited by navyhmc : 02-11-2008 at 03:47 AM. |

It clearly violates the guidelines but it always surprises me what gets by as a carry on so you "might" get it on just make sure you board early before all the over head is filled by all the other people just doing carry on. Be prepared to check it at the gate if it gets that far. The 26" length seems to be a big drawback to me and with the handle and wheels I doubt it compresses in that direction. Let us know how it went you get back.

I just want to gate check not take it on the plane. The people we are going with said that airport in Aruba takes a very long time to get checked luggage from the plane out to the travelers. If teh airlines want people to only bring "legal" sized bags maybe they could do a better job keeping track of luggage and have better customer service if they do misplace your luggage.
