Aeries Caribe Sizing??
So I'm looking to get my first BC, and will probably go with the Aeries Caribe (for price reasons obviously). I have only really had experience with rental BC's and people that I have talked to stress how much the fit can change from one to another.
Heres my question: I am about 6 to 6'1" and weigh around 155. Online sizing charts say that I fit the large better for height and the medium better for my weight. Does anyone have any info that might help? Maybe you have used this BC and know how it tends to fit relative to other brands, or what size you think I should go with. On a side note....I went into my local dive shop to see if they could help me determine the right size, but once the guy found out that I was probably going to buy online, he totally didnt even make any effort to be helpful. I mean I can understand where they are coming from, but I have bought a bunch of stuff from my local shops, and I thought it was rather rude. Anyways, this was a little off topic, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. Thanks for any help! |

I'm 5'10" @ 180 lbs and I use a large BC. I've never used an Aeris BC before, (Cressi, Seaquest, Oceanic). I now own and use an Oceanic OutRigger HLT. If the large is right for your height, I'd have a tendency to go with it as you can most likely make adjustments in the "cumberbund" for your waist, and your wetsuit or dry suit will take up some room in the BC too.

go into your nearest authorized ScubaPro LDS and try on the SP Pilot. Same exact BC, except the pricetag
![]() I dived with the Pilot - was a rental - then bought the Aeris Caribe from ST (of course, that's why I'm here duh) Last edited by hoobascooba : 03-06-2008 at 10:08 PM. |

It seems to me the Aeris BCD's were a little on the large size. My son is about your weight and he uses the medium. You can always let the cumberbund out some but it is hard to make it smaller if the bladder wraps around too far.
