lowest weight BCD

Hello All
Im looking at getting a new bcd , i do a fair bit of diving (about 200 a year) mainly in temprate water , with one tank , no tecko stuff and i usually dive with a camera.

what im looking for is a light BCD that will help cut down my baggage weight when i go overseas on my annual dive holiday.

im not keen on having shiny buckles or other dangly bits , just a regular light weight reasonable quality BCD with good sized pockets and must be weight intergrated . cheap would be good too.

any comments or recomendations welcome

Regards
Matt

I would generally recommend an aluminum or Kydex backplate with a Mach V wing for someone looking for the lightest, easiest packing travel system, but if you're not interested in exploring that path, you may want to look at the Zeagle Scout. Excellent warranty, and fabulous build quality... and made by a company with an actual reputation for customer service.

Good article on this very subject in the newest Scuba Diving magazine... if you get that in OZ. I'd personally second CompuDude's recommendation, look at the Zeagle products.

You could take a look at the Oceanic "Islander" BC....light weight, it has attachment points, comes with two "D" rings, has integrated weight pockets. The only thing is the pockets are'nt that big.

In the Mares lineup, the Icon is their compact travel BC. Good BCDs, good warranty, and another company that stands by their products....

Obviously, you need to try these things on to get an idea of fit. Weight is one thing, but if diving 200 times a year, you need good fit above all!

Just another option!

Another vote for the Zeagle Scout. Read they were out of stock until end of March. It's now April so how about an update?

IMO- If I was in the market (Diving the Zeagle Brigade) I believe I would give the Hollis system a serious look.... I have checked it out at the ST shop and I have to say it is very nice. PM Joe or Larry and get thier opinion. Good luck!!

Another vote for the Scout, it's light, low inherent buoyancy (equals less lead on a belt), rugged enough to withstand regular usage, and easy to pack. I have a Stiletto which is a similar bcd and it's great.
