It is the safest, easiest, best weight system out there in my opinion. You can't beat it. Fast and easy to add or remove weights. Fastest and easiest system to dump in an emergency.

I think that it's the best integrated BC weight dumping system out there.

You only need to use one hand to dump your primary weights and it only has to do one thing, pull. Other systems typically require you to use both hands (during an emergency, mind you) to pull both handles and then hold the weights out at arms' length before letting go.

The only knock that I've heard that may be legit, is that sometimes small weights slip past the rip cord tabs and fall out. Hence, you should use the infamous "yellow thingies" or some other method to hold the weights together.

Check out the rethreading video on the Zeagle website and you'll see that it's an easy thing to do.

No problem. I have never heard of weights accidentally coming out of a zeagle. It's really just not possible the way it's designed. Very fool proof.

I'd rephrase as fool resistant- some of the people I have seen in OW classes....

Nothing is fool proof with some people it seems

I used to dive a Zeagle Zena and now I dive the Ranger. I love their BCs and the ripcord system is very easy to use and replace.

I have used Zeagle's with ripcord systems for over 8 years, no problems with the weight system.

It is more fool proof than the pockets which use velcro and clips. With traditional pockets you are in fact activating the dump procedure every time you unload weights from the BC. Several times a day. The pockets are detached from the BC. Often the clips don't get latched properly or the velcro get's sandy or worn.
Not the case with Zeagle. You only use the emrgency release in a a, well, emergency. The weights are top loaded through zipper openings in the pockets. The pockets are permanently attched to the BC.

My husband lost a weight pocket on his SeaQuest BC ("Surelock" system), replacement.....$25. On our 2 week liveaboard trip last summer, we found 3 weight pockets on the bottom, one belonging to someone on our boat.

My husband sold his SeaQuest BC and bought a Ranger. Not only does he never have to try to cram weights into those stupid weight pouches, but he never has to worry about losing one again during a dive. Easy as pie to unzip the pocket, drop weights in, zip back up, and never having to worry about it again.

I have well over 100 dives on my Zeagle Zena and have NEVER had any problem with the ripcord system. Took me less than 5 minutes to rethread it the first time I pulled it (on purpose at home), and considering an emergency is the only other time it would be pulled, who cares if it takes a few minutes to rethread at that point?
