Hollis v. Diterite harness

I'm looking at two harnes systems, Listed below. I know you all are going to recommend I just go with a simple one piece webbing "hog harness" but I seem to have limited flexibilty in one shoulder due do a minor injury so will accept the risk associated with the "plastic side release buckle of death". I need a harness to go with an OMS backplate that I already own.

I'll be using this mostly with a single LP95. But here many of our local dives require a bit of a hike down a trail and some minor bolder hopping to get to the water so a BC has do good duty as a backpack

Can anyone tell be the different between the two harnees below. Is there any?

Hollis Elite Harness
Hollis Elite Harness, DIR and Technical, Hollis, Hollis Elite Harness

Dive Rite TransPlate Harness
Dive Rite TransPlate Harness, DIR and Technical, Dive Rite, Dive Rite TransPlate Harness

Thanks.

They look to be designed almost identically. The only thing that I see is that on the Diverite Transplate, you have "3 point" anchors that you can secure on the waist belt. On my DR harness, I have these "3 point anchors" all the way back against the plate. From the picture, I can not tell where the anchor point is for the Hollis shoulder straps. Either harness should work great for you.

Looks like the Hollis has one D-ring on each shoulder, vs. two for the Dive Rite.

Personally, I didn't like having a second d-ring (which really surprised me).

Other than that, and the 3-point connection plate No Misses pointed out, they do seem to be pretty similar. I'm sure either is fine, and I get why you need the disconnect, given shoulder issues. Aside from interfering with where I want to mount my backup lights, I never really had an issue with the QDs on the harness.

The crotch strap looks a little odd on the Hollis plate... or is that just a pull ring for the shoulder strap?

My personal recommendation is, whichever you go with, don't bother installing the chest strap. I used one for the first 4 dives on my TransPlate, forgot to fasten it for the next 5 dives (and only noticed after I got out for the last dive), then decided to remove it, since it clearly wasn't needed. One less thing to futz with.
