Zeagle SS BackPlate and Wing
I love Zeagle products!
I want to dive a BP/W setup now. I was thinking about getting the Zeagle SS BackPlate and the Scout #35 Wing. Does anyone here dive with this BP/W setup? If so, tell me how you feel about it! Also, do most divers use a weight belt and trim pockets -or- dive with front pockets and trim pockets? |

get the 44# wing. A friend of mine got the ss plate and a 35# wing and it didn't fit together right. the 35# wing is just a little to short to use on a plate. I dive a ss plate and the 44# wing and it works fine.
Most people who I have seen dive a BP/W don't where any extra weight at all; they use big steel doubles to sink. Last edited by marchand : 07-07-2008 at 05:45 PM. |

I dive with a Zeagle SS and Ally backplate and I use the 34lbs all elastic Zeagle wing and it fits fine on the backplate. The 44lbs wing is just too big for single cylinders and more suited to small doubles. The 34lbs wing is very streamlined and a great size for even the largest single cylinder.
I use the Zeagle zipper weight pockets they have for backplates. Diving with Faber 100cuf cylinder and SS backplate I do not need any weight, when in my 5/7 semi-dry I put one 3lbs weight in each pocket. But if your planning to travel by air I would buy a Ally backplate and use the weight pockets. Get the 2 inch crotch strap as they sit better than the one inch. I also prefer the deluxe harness over the standard. I have never had an issue with the quick release buckles which they have in the deluxe harness. Aussie |
