Adding Back Pad to Brigade

I have a large Brigade, and the chest and length fit perfectly, however the waist strap is sinched up all of the way when I dive and it's still just a tad loose. I was thinking about adding the back pad option
http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...eagleLumbarPad
to take up a little space in that area. I wouldn't want to make any permanent changes in the BC because I always get a little smaller in the waist during the summer, but during the holidays I tend to, (clears throat) "grow" just a little bit in the mid-section..

Any body have any experience with these pads, and are they same one's I've seen that come with the Ranger LTD's??

Yep, same pad. I use one off and on. It attaches/detaches
in just a minute or so. No permanent changes.
You simply slip the top velcro between the 2 layers
of velcro that is already there and slip the cummerbund
through the webbing on the back of the pad.
Depending on size, you may use two of the included plastic bolts.
But if you are using to adjust it at the small end (like me),
you won't need the plastic bolts.

It is very comfy. The only draw back is that you will be
heavier when you first get out as the pad holds a bit
of water.

It is made of the same material as the lining inside
the BC on one side and stuffed with polyester stuffing/"cotton" inside.
On the back side that faces the existing BC it is made of
mesh for draining.

I really like it. For me, it makes the BC fit snugly like its
is supposed to.

Actually the one for the Ranger / Brigade is slightly different than the one in the LTD. The Ranger / Brigade one comes out a bit more on the sides, and attaches with grommet holes to the holes for the cummerbund adjustment. The LTD has it sewn in at the bottom so cannot be easily removed (without scissors!)

And yes, it takes up probably about 3 inches of space when you add it. (That's 3 inches around you... so if the velcro crosses by 3 inches when you cross it, it should line up...)

(I just read that again and I'm not sure if you understand what I'm saying there, 'cause I'm not sure I do... Hopefully )

creggur, I have one on my ranger. From a comfort standpoint it is like having a lazy boy on your back. I won't dive without it. Just do it!!!

I think I get it... Basically instead of a 34 inch waist, it will be like I have a 37" waist with the pad installed..
I'm sold on it.. Soon as I get my 250 post GC from Joe I'm going to get the pad, a SCUBA tool, and the Armour double reg bag...Larry's a genius because the GC is the incentive to shop, but I am, of course going to spend more than $50.00.

Ordered it today, along with an Armour double reg bag and a SCUBA tool. Can't wait to try it out this weekend...Nothing like placing an order at 2:00 and getting the tracking info on the shipment before 6:00...
