what is the right bc

I just bought a Seaquest Libra bc. Just wondering if this is a good bc. I went to several different shops and could not get decent answer from anyone. Each store recommend something different. But all of them said back inflated was the better way to go. I was just certified in Oct and have only used a jacket bc. I felt comfortable in it and did not feel like I was going to drown on the surface. I would have liked to have rented a back inflated but I could not find any shops in the area that rented them only jackets and not even womens jacket bc to try. Should I keep this bc or return it for a different bc

Have you dove the Libra yet? Wether is good or bad really depends on how you like it and how it fits you and if it does everything you need or want.

I used to own a Balance which is the male version of the Libra and really liked how uncluttered it was, I also liked how the integrated weights worked.

I think it's a fine BC and should serve you well... but what I think doesn't or shouldn't matter

It's all about you!

The right BC is the one you are comfortable diving with. As you have already seen there are many styles and opinions. I prefer the back inflate style and have a strong bias toward Zeagle but that doesn't mean your choice is wrong. If you like it, it works for you, and you are having fun, then you bought the right one.

Tough question.

The BC is the most "personal" piece of gear you will own. Preference, selection, and recommendations will be highly subjective. You really need to try as many as you can to find the one right for you.

I know people who use them. By all reports a good sturdy BC. Good warranty and service locally.

The Libra is a quality product and will give you plenty of dives. If it fits and it's comfortable on you when you dive it's the right choice. It's not about how it's looks on you on the boat. I prefer a back inflate over a jacket style because of the way it dives, trims out and the uncluttered front. On the surface a back inflate could float you a little differently depending on how you weight yourself.

Hopefully it is a good BC, and fits you, since you own one now.......

like others have said..If It fits you well and you feel comfortable diving in it then it is the right BCD for you. I tried on several before finding one that felt right. I didn't care what anyone recommended or thought about it since I am the one that has to wear it and be comfortable in it.

I agree 100% with what everyone else has said. FIT IS EVERYTHING. If it fits you well, it has the features you like, you're comfortable in it, and you like it, then IMO it is the PERFECT BC for YOU.

Feel good about your Libra, go dive it and enjoy it.

How it fits you and how comfortable you are wearing it are the most important issues. Since you own it now, go out and dive it, but give it some time until you will make all your personal adjustments to it.

Sea Quest makes a good product. And the one thing I regreted after buying is that i didn't get a back inflate. so it looks like you got a good thing. But whats good for one may not be good for the other
