Which weights to use with Brigade?
Getting ready for my first dive with my "new to me" Brigade and wanted to know what weights are best to use. My thoughts say soft bags but, wanted to ask. Also, how much do you generally use in the back? I'm 6-2 200 lbs and typically use a total of 18-22 lbs with a stab vest. Thanks!!!!

I like to use the soft weights because they kinda form around your waist and feel better (to me).
I have used them with and without the yellow weight pouches and have had no troubles, as long as they are 2lb and up. As for weighting, it is going to depend on the type of tank you use, etc. For an aluminum 80, a good starting point is to put about 1/3 of your weight in the back, then trim yourself out from there until it feels right to you. I've used both hard and soft weights in mine with no real issues.
I prefer soft weights, mostly because the won't slide around inside the pockets, where as hard weights will shift around as you change your body position. I have the yellow weight thingies, but they are not really all that important. They just make it a little easier to get all weights out at one time. How much weight will depend on a lot of factors. What kinda suit your wearing, fresh or salt, Alum or Steel tank, etc. |

I use whatever weights are available, though I prefer soft weights. That's one great thing about Zeagles, you don't have to worry about whether your weights will fit in the pockets since you just unzip and drop them in.

yeah definatly like that about my ranger....just unzip...toss them in....just make sure that if you had previously tested the ripcord system to make sure that you didn't miss a loop....weights like to slip out that way....woops....definatly make sure that you take your time rethreading it and make sure you do it right....lol
