Women's BC advice needed
I am thinking of getting a BC for my wife for her birthday. I think she would like the Zeagle Lazer.
I won't be able to have her try one on because (1) it is going to be surprise and (2) there is no place locally to try one out. I might be able to get her to try out my Stiletto under some sort of pretense. Have any of you ladies compared the fit of the Stiletto to the Lazer? Does the "women's" cut of the Lazer really matter? Is there a height at which the diferent cut really doesn't matter, or is it just a personal thing? I am pretty sure she would not like a Zena, based on her build and the comments I have read. I will buy from ST, and I am pretty sure they would send me a Stiletto and a Lazer, so I may just have to do that, but still, input would be great. Thanks for any help you can provide. |

The Zena didn't fit me well no matter how many permutations we tried. I thought I wanted the Lazer. I have a pretty girly figure (but I'm strong and will slam dunk anyone who turns this thread into a circus) and was sure that meant I needed a female BC. I had rented and tried on a ton of unisex BCs and they never quite fit. The shoulders were generally too big and my equipment moved and I had rub marks on the front of my shoulders every time. So I ordered up some Lazers, two of them. I am too tall for the Lazer, at 5'10" the cumberbund came right up under the "girls." The Stiletto gave me the extra length I needed. I put a smaller shoulder in it and it was perfect. I also preferred the design of the shoulder piece. Instead of coming up and over the shoulders in the usual position, the shoulder piece comes up the center of the back, over the shoulder, and then articulates back under the arms. Clears the "girls" rather well with that design. Hope that helps, PM me if you have questions. |

![]() Be back shortly. For OP, don't bother with the surprise unless you expect to give her something in a box and then go back to the shop to fit and test. A BC is the most personal and subjective piece of gear a diver will use.

Nah, Skred, I'm not playing. The OP asked for some advice on the very two BCs that I ended up choosing between. And he asked to hear back from the LADIES. Not putting in a few details would have made that feedback pretty useless, don't you think?
But my experience with this forum is that any time you mention anything related to being female, all h... breaks loose. Maybe everyone can act like grownups and let the OP hear from LADIES who have tried these BCs. |

Yes, I am a guy. My advise is sound. I bought a BC for my daughter.
Fact is, internet advise can be good. But when discussing BC's, we need to be careful. BC's are very personal! My daughter is nearly 17. She has had the opportunity to try the Zeagle Stiletto (Not the Lazer), the Seaquest Diva with corset (not the Zena) as well as Aeris, Luna... a bunch of others ican't remember including a BPW. She ended up chosing a Scubapro Bella. No accounting for taste. She liked the fit and I liked how it trimmed her out. Do not buy a BC for the wife and expect her to conform to it. It works the other way is all I'm saying.

) I have the Zena - LOVE IT - but you think it's not an option for your wife, based on her build. If you don't mind me asking - what type build is she? I ask, because the Zena, like other Zeagle BCs, is built of several components that can be switched out to customize the fit for various heights and sizes. Of course I think any Zeagle is a good choice - IF she likes the fit, etc.
