Modifying a rear inflate BC

I have a Poseidon TechLift Gravity Zero sitting in my closet because I have no place to really use it around here.
This thing was designed for doubles with it's HUGE wing.
It appears to be attached in an all in one unit so I don't see a way to swap out for a smaller wing.
I was wondering if I could bungee it to reduce to area of the wing making it more managable for diving singles.
As it is now....when I use it diving singles, I get even the tinyest bit of air in the wing and there's no getting it out.
That damned wing is HUGE and it a game of chase the air.

I'll try to post some stock pics of one.

Here's a couple of photos I found on eBay of the same exact BCD.
Look at the size of that wing.
Surely it can be banded with shock cord to reduce the capacity and make it more managable for singles.
Granted, theres no backplate to speak of so I don't know exactly where I'd run the bungee but I was curious if anyone else out there has this BC or one similar and if they'd come across this issue.

That's no wing... it's a blimp. Strap it on, fill it with helium, and fly somewhere nice.

Seriously though, you could try bungees, and they might well work, but I'd personally be more inclined to eBay it and put the proceeds toward something sensible.

That's why I'm looking onto the BP/W set up.

It's a nice looking BC, if a bit excessive for my needs... I bet you could get enough (or nearly enough) for it to get a BP/W.

The only problem with the Tech Lift is the size of the wing.
Other than that, it's a really nice comfortable set up.
If I could find a way to put a smaller wing on it, I'd keep it for local diving.
As it stands now, I'm researching BP/W that will suit all of my needs.

I'll just have to figure a way of selling the idea the the wife.
She's happy with her vest style BCD and will probabaly use the one she has until the day she never dives again.
Me?
Well, I like to try new things....as far as dive equipment......LOL
I'll keep the old wife.
She's tried,true and a perfect fit...

I could get more than enough for a simple BPW set up.
Right now they have a special on Cave Adventures.
Dive Rite Alum BP and Oxycheq HOG harness for $69.00......Dive Right wings starting at $153.00
That about $220. or so...entry level BP/W.
I already have Cam Bands and Halcyon BCS weight pockets to add.

Yes, like a retro 18th Century Hot Air Balloon instead. The blimp is so 20th Century! Not to mention that helium is more expensive than propane

Sounds like a plan! I'd suggest it... I recently switched to a BP/wing rig, and am really enjoying the difference. That's a great price for a rigged aluminum plate.

Besides what's listed in my last post, what else will I need to make this a nice rec rig?
I see other accessories mentioned..like STA's, etc.
What's the minimum I'll need to get wet?
