so, it's just the cam bands that hold it on?

Your wing either gets sandwiched between your plate and your tank, with cam straps going through slots in the plate and wing, or it sits between the STA and plate (the bolts in the STA go through the grommets of the wing and the nuts/washers all tighten on the plate side.

You only need the sexbolts if you're attaching stuff to the outer holes around the backplate (accessory pocket, argon strap, etc.).

Excellent answer. Covers it all.

My Photos: 2 Images
I use 1 sex bolt (on the top) to keep my wing in place on a BP without an STA. It is't NEEDED, but it does make it easier to keep in position when changing tanks IMHO.

Check Home Depot for a more cost effective answer to Sex Bolts.
They have all kinds of specialty bolts in those drawers in the fasteners, nuts and bolts isle.

hmm, good call....I think I will do that.

I just receieved my bp/w setup, I did not order an STA just yet. But, I'm thinking maybe that would just make things easier.

So, my setup is: OMS alum backplate, Oxycheq Mach wing, Oxycheq hog harness, Oxycheq SS cam bands.

I can already see how some bolts will allow me to position the wing on the backplate more precisely, if I just rely on the cam bands, the wing can move up and down a bit, and I can't dial in its position.

Maybe I'll see if I can find a marine grade bolt and wingnut that will work.

Also, any ideas on what type of bolt I might use for securing the crotch strap in the back?
