Do you have your BC serviced?

I know just about everyone has their regulators serviced and tanks inspected annually but what about your BCs? I know there are O-Rings and seals on there that can go bad and since I have an Octo/Inflator, that will need to be serviced with my regulator. Just wondering what everyone else typically does.

I clean and check my BC after every dive trip, and have it inspected by my LDS once a year when I get my regs serviced. I just switched to a BP/W setup late last year. I'm debating whether or not to have the wing checked out.

No, I check it myself. I have even taken the valves apart. It's not rocket science if you keep it clean.

BCs and wings are very easily done so I check them when I clean them and if I need something fixed I just get the part from my LDS.

+1. (referring to wings, not BCs.)

Visually making sure there are no wear points that could lead to leaks (or actual leaks), and making sure the inflator is in good working order is about all that's needed. I don't need to pay someone to do that. I can disassemble the inflator easily enough, and if there is a problem, they're only $25 or so to replace with a brand new one if it's more than just replacing a worn o-ring.

My 1st BC, never had serviced and it is going on 12 years old. As long as you flush, clean and store it properly you should not have any issues with it. I just got a Apeks WTX and I do not plan on getting that serviced. You can also find the manuals for some mfg's inflators online.

I think my biggest concern would be the inflator hose. The others are right when they say that the dump valves are not rocket science.
