Does anyone have any input about Deep Outdoors Wings? I have an opportunity to pick up a singles Deep Outdoors (40lb) wing for $125.00, but I have not been able to find out much information about this wing or the company?

Thanks

I think I've read some user reviews that said they were decent, but honestly I don't know too much about them, other than that they make a lot of accessories and fluff. Their accessories are certainly nice enough, but I'm a little leery of something as critical as a wing, especially when you compare it to the Mach V.

DO was the 1st wing I ever used. Turned me on to diving a BPW. I have since used original Oxy, OMS, DiveRite and OXY Mach V's. Of all I've used and owned, Mach V is the king. I have 2.

I have a Mach V 30# signature. It is sturdy enough. I also have a MachV 18#. Also signature.

I would say in Georgia and NC, you would not need more than a 30. 18 is too tropical. It is too tropical for me in the winter with steel tanks.

As for the extreme? Well considering where you are, you might want the extra durability for wreck penetration. The Sig though is sturdier than most wings used by wreck divers (OMS for sure which the Jersey guys use..Chatterton and Kohler)

Would the 30 be too much for the Tropics? (I may do a Liveaboard in Bahamas in April)

Use the Mach V sig 30# wing and I love it! If I ere doing crazy wreck penetration or cave diving I might want the extreme but I honestly dont see a durability issue with the signature wing...

The 30# is absolutely fine for the tropics and will work for you at home to.

Remember most of the BC's people are diving in the tropics are 45 to 65 #.

My excuse for buying the 18# was for my daughter. But I like using to just to have fun and keep getting "minimal". I have an ABS plate I rigged up and with no weight and a steel tank in a summer exposure suit, I think it would be cool.

Here are some pics of the 2 together. Note the steel tank is shorter than the aluminum.
