Question BCD Looking I Will Go

Hello all,

Could some of y'all give me your opinion on a good bcd. I'm 6'3 and 300+. I have used a scubapro knight hawk during training and like the back inflate style. They only had the xl and it was real tight in the waist but fine in the shoulder area.

Thanks,

rogerbn

Agree with the BP/W. Along with many other benefits, they're completely adjustable size wise. If your lose or gain significant weight, you're out a $20 piece of webbing.

+2. They'll also provide extra weight, which will help to sink easier.

Also, they're often cheaper than your typical high end BCDs like the KnightHawk and Ranger, yet considerably more rugged.

+3. You can totally customize your bp/w to have the optional weight pouches like the knighthawk, the holes on the side of the backplate you can mount like the SMB, argon, a rubik's cube and etc. But the best part is the adjustment for either a large or small diver with just the single webbing.

I'm about your size...

6' 3" /250lbs. , but I was 325lbs. when I bought my Apeks WTX bpw... if you have Aqualung shops in the area you'll probably be able to lay hands on one...

I love it. I feel its the only BC I'll ever need, for whatever I'll have to throw at it... (may Eventually need a larger wing... but maybenot)

Hey thanks for all the suggestions. So everyone seems to think a bp/w is a good choice for me. I now have another question and that is who are the manufactures of these products? What is a good manufacture for the bp/ws?

That's all discussed here:
Dive Rite or Halcyon DIR gear
