BP/W travel question

I dive with an Oxycheq Mach V Signature 30 lb. wing on a Dive Rite steel plate with Hog harness. Dry suit diving in cold water, it works great. We have a trip planned to warm water and the plan is to take this rig with. I will be diving with a 3/2 mil full suit and rental alum. 80's. My concern is being over weight. Has anyone traveled with a similar setup? Thanks, Bob

SW or FW?

In any case, at worst, you might be negative a couple pounds (plus back gas). Not a big deal.

oops. The plate will offset the buoyancy of the empty tank plus a pound or two for your suit.

You'll probably still need a few pounds on a belt.

I agree, you'll probably still need a pound or two.
I dive an alum. BPW, in a 3/2 shorty and still need about 12-14 to get me down in saltwater. (Roatan...to be exact).

I dive an alu plate with mini STAs in a 3mil full suit.
I uses 2 lbs lead and am very comfortable with it, even though i most probably do not even need that 2lbs. If I use a regular steel STA, I definitely would not need that extra lead.

I think you'll still need a few pounds.
If I remember correctly, Cocoview has that bright rainbow colored cattle boat with nitrox tanks lining boths sides of the vessel.
All AL80's, so that's a help to you right there.

Steel tank or AL? I'm betting steel. With an AL80, steel plate, full size STA, full 4/3mm suit, I still wear 10 lbs lead.
