Zeagle Brigade BCD
I am looking at a number of BCD's and spoke w/ Rick @ Scubatoys. I will be chatting with him again in the few days to order the Brigade as it really seems like it will accomodate all my current and future diving needs.
I would like to know from others who use it as to how well it packs up for travel. Does anyone know the weight of this BCD. With air travel limited to 50 lbs. it's really starting to matter. Also does it have one or two tank straps and does it come with the yellow weight pockets? |

It travels just fine. The Brigade, along with everything else (except for tanks and weights) needed for Caribbean diving pack up nicely in my nice rolling bag that is small enough to be a a carry on, and it's nowhere near being too heavy, either.

I have the brigade although I've never tried the carryon method but will need to give it a try. I have a regular 28" roller that took the brigade, fins, clothing and most other gear except regs and computer to the Fla. Keys. I think the bag weighed just a hair over the airline limit, but it got by just fine. I'm traveling to Bonaire in October and am considering packing the brigade in a carryon so we will see how that goes.

I have the Brigade as well, it's an awesome BC! 100 dives on mine and it is barely showing any wear at all.
My dive gear (no weights, regulator + computer in carryon) + a week's worth of clothes, all shoved inside a fairly heavy rolling duffel bag weighs 46 pounds total. No biggie. -Brandon.

Nothing to really add here, other than it is a great BC. I looked at so many BCD's before settling on the Brigade. I can't remember seeing one, even a more expensive one, that looked as solid as the Brigade does..

Make sure you look into the trim weight pockets also that go behind - maybe work them into your deal somehow - I have heard from a couple of folks that they got them included and hadn't even asked about them -
I wish I'd gotten them - they really seem to help my buddy on her Zena - I didn't get the "yellow thingies" either, but haven't lost any weights, so.....?

I am able to take 2 full sets of gear (minus tank and weights) on the airplane no problem. I have been worried that with it wet I would be over the limit but still have had no problem. I believe my brigade came with some pockets on the back around the bottom of the tank that are dumpable, I use them as trim pockets, i guess they are trim pockets. I am still getting used to the back inflation. It does push me a bit forward on the surface unless I lay more on my back and sometimes I have trouble getting little bits of air out of the huge bladder.
