Online purchase recommendation

So I'm considering getting a BP/w online from either scubatoys or leisurepro. Hope to get some recommendations on which to choose.
Scuba Diving BCDs Back Plate & Wing with reviews on sale

http://www.leisurepro.com/Cat/Contex...ators/964.html

For now, scubatoy's OxyCheq Ultra Lite Back Plate (USD48.00), OxyCheq Razor Wing (USD180) plus Speed harness (USD12) or Dive Rite Basic Harness (USD34.85) sound like an awfully good deal to me. Right?

Or leisurepro's Dive-Rite Aluminum Backplate (USD63), Dive-Rite Basic Harness (USD27) or Dive-Rite Deluxe Harness (USD37), and one of the wings around USD200.

Any recommendations? I am 172cm tall, weigh 80kg or so, but I'm really more muscular than I am fat, or at least I like to think so .

Well, seeing as how this is the ScubaToys forums, I'd lean in that direction. Plus the added benefit of the Oxy wings.

I love oxycheq wings, so that is the deal maker to me. Really a harness is a harness, and you really have to try to make a bad backplate.

Don't forget you get 10% off the total at ST for being a forum member.

I would reconsider the ultra lite plate unless there is a specific reason for purchasing. If you are just looking for light weight an aluminum plate would be a better option IMO.

The Razor wing is fine but you should consider the Mach V wing, a lot more streamlined, and it is just an outstanding product. I believe you will need an STA with the Razor VS. the Mach V also so maybe you can justify the extra $ to upgrade considering that. Personally I would not purchase the DR wings, there are better options out there.

Personally I prefer a basic harness over the deluxe or speed versions but some say they like the Deluxe type because it is easier to get in and out of. I have never had an issue with the basic HOG style so I can not speak to this.

Looks like more and more of my fellow Singaporean divers are joining this board, and possibly feeding Larry and Joe's piggy bank even more!

I have a GolemGear AL plate and 35# wing. Both have lifetime guarantees. The wing cover is nearly cut-proof. The bladder can be fixed in a pinch with a bicycle tire repair kit. Sometimes, you can get the combination plate/wing/harness for about $380 online.

I use a hog-harness; webbing costs about $10 and the hardware about another $20 (steel belt buckle, not plastic)

I like the Golum products. The AL Combo for $390 is a good deal, the wing has a bigger profile vs. the Oxy Mach V but it has the donut shape that I would prefer.

Where got? Who? Only me right?

Thanks for the tips, btw, I can't believe how much STAs cost, they're even more expensive than some BPs!
Hey look! DiveRite harness and BP plus OxyCheq Mach V package!

And here and here, but the Golem gear package doesn't include STA. I thought STA is either needed or not at all???

And ooooooooh...:billdanc e: ST has got the best smilies !

The DR & Oxy package is a smoking deal........

Remember you will have to add the cam bands, not discussed above, go for the SS, also you can get the sex bolts or just use SS bolt and wing nuts to attach the wing.

I believe the Golum 30lb does not require the STA but you should ask Rick (Vercingetorix) since he has this set up.
