Question Question about my Zena and weighting

It seems that on most back inflate BC's, some amount of back weighting is needed so that on the surface the tendency to pitch forward is reduced. The back weights also seem to help with trim underwater.

When I use my Zena, I only have problems with trim underwater and forward pitching on the surface, when I put weights in the back pockets. When I remove the back weights and put all the weight in the front weight pockets, underwater trim is perfect and I have no problems on the surface. This just seems counter intuitive to me. Is this because the weight pockets on my Zena are perfectly placed on my center of gravity? Is this something unique to just females, since our center of gravity is different than a mans, or is this because I'm just "special"?

I do not have rear pockets on my Ranger but my trim UW is great. On the surface your natural tendency is to compensate by just leaning back. It is easy and you forget after awhile that you are even doing it
I do not spend much time on top of the surface so it isn't a problem.

I care about UW trim as that is what matters to me

I think it may be because women have buoys attached in the front.

Yes, if you look at the Zena, you will see the weights are moved back farther than they are on most BC's. If you don't need the rear pockets - just don't use them. If you need to add a pound or two back there for trim - fine - but if you are in good trim and balance without - just don't worry about them!

I've seen this with a lot of females. The rear weights don't do much for them - but they are there just in case your balance is different and needs a bit of adjustment.

Thanks ya'll. I love the fact I don't have to worry about the rear weight pockets, it makes packing the BC a delight. I'm packing it up right now, heading down to Cozumel for the weekend.
