I have two of these to store everything in except my regs and wet/dry suits. When I dive I bring two - one for wet stuff and one for dry stuff. They have a nice removable tool storage tray in the top for small items. When storing at home I do leave the lids off.

First rule, everything gets thoroughly dried before being put away. We have a shower room with a heated floor that's on 24/7, so all the gear gets rinsed in there and put on clothes drying racks for a few of days. Rarely takes more than 2 days for everything to dry.

Reg goes in an ST zippered reg bag with the hoses carefully coiled. Fins (with inserts) go in a fin bag and get hung on a nail in a cold closet. Mask goes into cordura/mesh mask bag. Booties, mask, reg bag and accessories go into several smaller zippered nylon and mesh bags and into my large gear bag which goes in the closet on the floor. BC goes on a hanger in my main closet partially inflated. Wetsuit also on a wide hanger in the closet.

Computer gets soaked in the sink for several hours, then rinsed for about 10 minutes, hand-dried and goes in a drawer.

I've been thinking about getting a large tub or plastic drum to soak the gear in for a day or two after being in saltwater, just haven't gotten around to it. I pretty thoroughly clean my gear after every use so I don't think it would make much difference really.

I hate to tell you, but; you have been ill advised.
You store your gear by shipping it to me and I'll dive it till next "season" to keep it experienced. As a bonus, I'll evaluate and give your gear a grade.

(Just kidding!) You got good advice all the way around.

mm2002 and I discussed this at length. He decided to simply dive year round.

My garage is the ideal place. Temp controlled, a place for everything to hang. Just bring your stuff by and I'll make sure it's in good working order when you're ready to go diving in the spring. Just make sure your bc and wetsuits are sized medium short. Also, please ensure that you bring all of your computer download software/interfaces so that I can constantly monitor and recalibrate your computer (air integrated if possible).
