I have aScubapro back inflate BC that has developed 2 pinhole leaks in the bladder. The bladder is a single layer, no liner. Both of the leaks are at a seam area, one is in an area that is not really easily accessible (up in a gusseted area), the other is across the bottom of the bladder.
<DIV>I really don't wish to put much money into this BC as it is due for replacement, and will end up seeing pool use etc during the winter months.</DIV>
<DIV>I have read about using Aquaseal to repairBCbladders as well as hearing about patches, but most of the reading/info I have come up with are for repairing inner bladders, not single layer.</DIV>

Aquaseal will work fine on that single layser material. The leak at the seam may be a problem but what have you got to lose. Just rub it into the hole area and make sure you don't glue anything together that you didn't want glued. Keep just enough air in the BC so as not to glue the inside together.

I'd second the aquaseal, but pay attention to it over time because it will eventually after a couple years of use start to loosen up. But in a seam area there's not much choice in the matter.

I have an older Sherwood Avid BC that seems like it is literally held together with Aquaseal. I would recommend a bubble check with an inflated bladder pre-dive and also to be sure to clean the area extensively with the prepping solution prior to the application of the adhesive. Then when you think it is clean, clean it one more time as to ensure a good bond.

Just as an update, did the aquaseal repair using the Cotol-240 cleaner/accelerator. Did a quick leak test using some soapy water and back good to go.
<DIV>I now have my backup BC, well...backup.</DIV>
<DIV>In the gusseted areaI ended upusing a chopstick to push it into the area to make sure it got all coated up well.</DIV>
