Adding a tank strap to a BC
can i add a 2nd strap to a mares morphos limited?
the reason i want to, is that the original strap is low on the BC, and makes the tank feel like it is pulling back on me...

Why do you need another tank strap? Can you not secure your tank with just one? A lot of BCs have one strap only and doesn't seem to have a problem...
I'm using an Apollo Bio-Tank Lock, I love it. No kneeling on the ground trying to strap the tank tight anymore, just need two fingers to screw tight the tank lock. So if you have problem tightening the tank, that's something to look into. |

its not a problem with straping the tank, i just think the strap is too low on the bc, and the top of the tank feels like it's pulling back, but only when exiting the water, and the strap is not loosening up at all during the dive...

Are you able to move the tank mount on the BC around on the BC I know on my current BC have the opportunity to move the tank mount up/down on the BC, if you have this option moving it up may alleviate this problem. Your owners manual may have some info regarding this.

I know you "love" your jacket, but if you have the chance, try a BP/W. When I got my BP/w for doubles, I swore I'd keep my AVID bc becuase I liked it so much. And for 2 years I did. But I finally bought a singles wing, and will probably sell my AVID soon (soon is relative, It may be when I get back from Iraq)

im already thinking about this, I've been looking at a bp/w setup, maybe SS backplate (for the weight) and i might have a chance to try it out.(next few weeks) and i was always thinking, that stuff is for tech and what not, but i see alot of rec divers switching to them.. .so it's gotta be good right? cant be all hype.
the reason i aways strayed away from it was that it looks VERY uncomfortable, a piece of metal directly against your back, and a nylon harness... then i saw something that looked really comfy, the transpack or transplate, one of the two.

AHA! You have fallen for the BC hype! COMFORT! How much time are you spending walking around wearing your BC and Tank? 30 seconds, 1, 2 minutes? Once your undewater, that heavy tank is floating thanks to the BC or wing. All you really need underwater is the straps to keep you and your bc together. You are no longer supporting it's weight. Even with my doubles, I didn't find the hog harness uncomfortable.
Give it a try! FD |

I don't need my BC to be comfortable on land per se, but I do need it to be stable and not make me fall over. I don't know how I'd ever dive doubles, but I'm sure I will make it work some how.
Do they have elevators off the back of boats yet? |
