I'm thinking about Concept II for my son because it can adjust the size so it can be adjusted as he glows. Has anyone used Concept II and how do you like it?
Also, I cann't tell from the picture on the Zeagle web site that how the weight pockets are set up. Are they similar to Stiletto? Last edited by jtkkym : 02-14-2008 at 10:44 PM. |

I personally haven't used the concept II, but if my son was glowing I would be more worried about that than getting a BC that adjusts to his aura.
Kidding aside, It looks like a nice BC, and from my experience with other Zeagle BC's I would say that it is probably a very functional and well made BC. The weight pockets are the standard Zeagle ripcord release. If you want to get something that your son will not outgrow I would suggest a BP/W. They are very comfortable, they last forever, and with just some webbing you can resize it; if you don't cut the original harness you won't even have to buy new webbing. |

I have had a Concept II for about 6 years. While I got it as a "last minute emergency new BC"-when my old BC tanked while packing for a trip- I like the way it has performed.
It has the same "ripcord" weight system as the Ranger, and the 44 lbs. of lift , but has fewer d-rings, and no regular pockets. (I have added a foldable pocket on the waist belt.) It does have the trim weight pockets on the lower tank band. It has a "lumbar pad" that is comfortable, but as the pad takes on a lot of water, (to kep the BC/pad closer to neutrally buoyant) the BC can be heavy when first exiting the water. The weight has not been a problem for walking/climbing a ladder to get back onto a boat. However, between the water weight, and the "integrated weight" weight, I have gotten a comment or two from crewmen on boats where the SOP is to have you sit on the platform, and they remove your rig. While I am not 100% sure that it would be my choice if I had a longer time to comparison shop, the "cons" are not sufficient to have me need to replace it. It is a good BC. It is comfortable, and has the "adjustabilty" that you are looking for. |

I dive one... it is quite nice. if fits well, and has the flexibility of adjusting the pieces as you grow (or loose weight)
it's well made like all the rest of their stuff. mine was bought used, and it shows, but it is perfectly functional.
