Zeagle Escape

Hi kids,

I was just looking at a Zeagle Escape. It looks like a pretty good BC. LeisurePro has it listed for $315, but their out of stock. I emailed them and said they could get one for me for that price. Does anyone have one or have they dived with one?

I have about 70 dives on my Escape, and have nothing but good things to say about it.

It has delrin D-rings, instead of stainless steel, however, I haven't found that to be an issue.
The bungied wing has always been plenty of lift for me for singles (I dive it with single steel 100s), and the rear and forward integrated weight system is excellent for adjusting trim (this feature, along with a great ripcord quick-release system, exists on all the Zeagles).

I originally looked at the Zeagle Ranger, however, I didn't need that much wing for singles, and I do bp/w for doubles...
The Escape also makes a great travel wing, as it's one of the lightest and most streamlined in the Zeagle line.

In that price range, I don't think you can do better. If you want to spend just a bit more, take a look at the Stiletto, or Brigade at ScubaToys. The Brigade is essentially a Ranger harness with the Escape wing. The Stiletto is an Escape, with a higher thickness (denier) wing, and SS D-rings.

keep in mind that if you buy from an authorized dealer instead of a gray market reseller, zeagle would come with a lifetime warranty!

And for the small difference in price after your discount - I think youll find the brigade is a much better design with more featured for virtually the same price.

Nice, I found an Escape for $335 with the full warranty after I thought about Larry's comment, so I snagged it. I'll try it out and let you folks know how it works out.

Yea, we can sell those for that price, but when for just 25 bucks more you can get the extra metal d-rings, the ability to swap out to different bladder sizes, the ability to run doubles if you wish, the ability to add a crotch strap, the sturdier material throughout the waist and shoulder panels, extra pocket on the waist band... I don't think I've ever had anyone skip all those features for 25 bucks... It's hard to say what the future of anyone's diving brings, and the versatility of being able to customize the bc for the future and the extra features now makes the small difference in price one of those situations where we'll sell about 1 escape for every 80 or so brigades we sell.... Just to the person who says they "have to have an escape because so and so told me..."

Aside from that... we don't sell too many with the brigade in the line up.

But they are nice - I used to dive one until I came up with the brigade idea... and we still carry them - just not too many of them!

larry,
Is there much difference in weight or how it packs between the brigade and Escape.

I have the new scout, its light and packs great, but wouldnt mind integrated weights.
