Question OxyCheq Mach V

I have been looking at the OxyCheq Mach V wing on several websites and find myself to be a little confused.

Oher wings that I see and slits on them for the tank bands to go through from the backplate. I don't see those slits on the Mach V. Or course the only view on EVERY webpage is the side that goes to the backplate, so there may be something on the other side that I can't see.

How does this wing go together with a tank and backplate? Or how does a tank mount to the whole thing?

I know my question sounds a little weird, but I am just not sure how to phrase it right.

Ok, let me rephrase.

On OxyCheq's website (Wings-Single) they say the Mach V has built in roll control, so you don't need a STA. Is that roll control a built in STA that you would put your tank straps through?

I just got an Oxycheq Mach V Extreme from SCUBATOYS $315 current special -10% for forum members it's about $284 with free shipping now. An additional $10/10 post certificate would make it about $274. This Mach V Extreme on special does not have the roll control tabs, but it is designed with slits to be used with or without an STA. If you require the roll control tabs, the Mach V's not on special have it. The center portion with the metal grommets looks like heavy webbing that the tank cam band can slide between the webbing and bladder cover. The Mach V can be bolted to the backplate through the grommets. I use an STA which has bolts that go through the grommets, then backplate, then waist/shoulder strapping. No, the roll control is not an STA. Please look at the thread

Oxycheq Mach V Extreme Wing. WOW!!!

I asked about the roll control in this thread.

I contacted SCUBATOYS directly (877) 728-2243 and by e-mail for specifics and discount. Hope this helps.

Correct. You CAN put your straps directly through the wing. The "roll control" is just some tabs that put pressure on the straps. Is it as good as a STA? I don't know.

There are slots on the newer Mach Vs. There have been several revisions since they 1st came out. I think on the websites, you are either seeming a picture of an older model, or you can't see the slots because the wing is so narrow. My regular Mach V with the roll control & slots has all black stitching including the Oxycheq Logo. I think earlier models without the slots had the gold logo.

Actually the tabs perform like wheel chocks against the tank. They help prevent the tank from rolling. They work OK, but I use an STA even with the roll control feature. I think it just works better.

Yeah I have one of the first-generation Mach V's and it has the gold logo and no cam slots. I prefer the sta on single-tank rigs, feels better to me so the lack of cam band slits doesn't bother me. On a side note, this is the best single tank wing I've ever used.

Ditto, to all of that. I have the first gen, no slots, but I use an STA anyway so I really don't care. The only difference between the older and newer models is the slots + roll control (only useful if you don't use a STA), and the color of the logo stitching.
